The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves
Oh, come on, Barack, Rick Warren? Rick Warren?
Was John Hagee not available?
Personally, I think the invocation should be given by Ted Haggard.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have 818 spam comments to mop up backstage.

The symbolism sucks, but if using Warren in this way give Obama a fig leaf to make POLICY more GLBT friendly, I guess I can suck it up.
I ain’t happy though.
The Purpose Driven Life is the sort of glib use of scripture to get the desired result (taking stuff out of context) that Xtianity and it’s ministers have always done. I can see why it’s popular, however.
Maybe Warren can be made to admit his advocacy of Prop Hate was full of lies…

That’s what you get for posting a Brittney video. Like flies to shit.

This has been a very disappointing decision thus far. I can forgive the other decisions thus far (too many secrets…sorry…Clintonistas) made by the transition team.
This one really just sux! I’m hoping for a large segment of the audience to do the ol’ “Turn your back on the Homophobe” routine.
Oh well…whaddya gonna do? Hopefully the invocation will be short, so I don’t hafta look at the jerk on my teevee that much.
btw…Happy Holidays Rexy!
(now i’ve really pissed off O’Reilly!)

errr, most of the cowboy bars in SF have a different clientele, if you catch my drift…

TRex! Glad you are back. I was getting worried and was just about to email you.
I may be entering a new phase of life… I am seriously considering adopting a particular cat from a local rescue organization. Gulp!
I put a deposit on her, but probably won’t be able to meet her until after Jan. 6 2009.

p.s. I’ve already gone ballistic re: Warren and Obama at Howie’s place. I used the f word a lot. This is just such an awful choice, and I am totally offended. I’m spending Christmas in CT with friends from college, who are great Obama fans.
I don’t think I’ll be introducing politics as a dinner table conversation. If I thought I could change anyone’s mind, I might, but… they already know my views.

I did not vote for Obama because he so perfectly reflects who I am and what I work for. I voted for him because he is so clearly the kind of politician we need to start a re-invention of America domestically and internationally.
When Obama went on Rick Warren’s Saddleback Forum with McCain, Christian America noticed. The shift of just a small percentage of Evangelical voters to Obama was a significant advantage on Election Day.
Al Giordano lays it out better than I ever could:
http://narcosphere.narconews.com/thefield/you-dont-get-inclusion-calling-exclusion
So if Obama wants to say Thank You to Rick Warren by lettng him say one stinkin’ prayer that the guy has enough PR/political savvy to know had better reflect Obama’s larger vision of a United America and go nowhere near gay marriage or abortion, well, I’ll hold my nose and say Thank You, too, Rick Warren, for delivering the Evangelical vote to the right man.
At the same time, I am enough of an adult consciousness to also be furious about such publicity for a vocal homophobe, no matter how many homeless people he feeds every day. But is my problem with Obama? Not for a freakin’ minute. My problem is with Warren, and that is where my energy will go — to find peaceful, entertaining, hilarious and compassionate ways to demonstrate broadly what a tiny, ignorant asshole makes noises like that in public.

Little late with a comment here. Read that Rick Warren was at Davos. Would not know what that means except for the movie The Yes Men. Did you see it? The gold costume? Devos. WTF was Rick Warren doing there ? Taking Jerry Falwell’s place? Why do they even want fundamentals at a place like that unless it is to plot and plan how to get fundamentals to vote against their own best interests. You must know of such things since you live in Georgia.
