This is Just Sad

So, the deeply silly Mary Katherine Ham is trying desperately to rehabilitate the image of the drooling lynch-mobs who turn up to cheer on Sarah the Impaler and Old Man McCrashypants, insisting that no one ever said, “Kill him!” about Barack Obama, but rather about Bill Ayers:

Here’s the original account from the Washington Post of the Florida rally by Dana Milbank:

“And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,’” she continued.

“Boooo!” the crowd repeated.

“Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience.

The subject of Palin’s sentence is never in doubt. It’s William Ayers, not Barack Obama. Predictably, the story of the man who allegedly yelled “kill him” about Barack Obama has found its way into an AP story, and then found its way into a thousand iterations of the story of the McCain-Palin rage McCain and Palin are allegedly inciting.

Well, just in case that’s the situation (which of course it isn’t, any more than the world is flat, down is up, and Sarah Palin is an ‘energy expert’), the crowd at an Impalin’ Palin rally today has gone out of their way to dispel any doubts around the issue:

Via Politico, The Scranton Times reports another threat against Barack Obama at a Sarah Palin rally Tuesday:

Chris Hackett addressed the increasingly feisty crowd as they await the arrival of Gov. Palin.
Each time the Republican candidate for the seat in the 10th Congressional District mentioned Barack Obama the crowd booed loudly.

One man screamed “kill him!”

Nice try, Mary Katherine, you little cretin, but the world is, in fact, round, Sarah Palin isn’t an expert on anything but shotgun weddings and shitty hair-do’s, and her supporters are a bunch of bloodthirsty, racist asshats.

Oh, and MK?  Your writing still sucks for air.

If you have any other questions, email me and I’ll see if I can explain everything verrrry slowly.

I guess that I’m so old that I remember the horrid year when we lost both Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy to nutbuckets who seemed to draw on the seething hatefulness of that year’s crowds. McCain was incarcerated at the time, but some of his handlers should have clued him in.

We don’t need to incubate hatefulness. We don’t need to overwork our Secret Service. And we sure as hell don’t need to lose another of our best young people.

Actually, I feel great. The combination of working out and nicotine patches means that my cigarette cravings are transient and not especially intense. I’m drinking lots of water and meditating, too. And I’m already starting to notice how much smokers stink.

exercise helps big time, also, trex, drink water like you’ve just crawled across the gobi desert.

meanwhile, re: hambone’s contentions that the media deliberately misinterpreted the intent of the original “kill him,” shouter:

no where did i see any media account of that occurence w/o an immediate caveat stating that it wasn’t clear whether the man was talking about ayers or obama.

and, mary katherine gallagher fails to talk about the myriad of occurences when maggie o’connell’s followers called obama an arab, a traitor, a terrorist, etc etc etc.

Help stop the hate - here are three things you can do to make a difference right now:

    1. Sign the petition to end incitement of hatred by McCain/Palin.

    2. Write your Congressperson about it.

    3. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper.

    And spread the word!
