Heh.  Indeedy.

After the stunning success of the Democratic National Convention, the McCain campaign decided to see if they could spin the news cycle by gettin’ themselves some of that there dah-versity on the ticket by choosing the Harriet Miers of Vice Presidential candidates.  And that’s not really working out so well.

How can it be that their candidate is so poorly vetted that she is due to be deposed on corruption charges any day now?  And can be heard giggling like a spiteful schoolgirl as a couple of AM hate-radio man-apes call her opponent a “cancer” on Alaska and a “bitch”?  Palin responds by telling the lads that she’d be honored to have them at her State of the State speech.

Lovely.

So, I’ve got ten bucks that says they do a full Miers and she’s not even the vice presidential nominee anymore by 10pm on Thursday, September 4th by the time that Grandpa McCrashypants makes his acceptance speech.  I’m thinking she’s going to announce that she declines the nomination to spend more time with her newborn child and the Great State of Alaska(!).

Who’s in?

And who do you think would replace her?  Mittens?  Holy Joe?

    I dunno, dude. It might well be that Senor Grampa’s campaign’s just played it a little stupid, and rashly picked someone to mine that rich PUMA anger that worked so well (not) for them at the DNC. But very little has been accidental over the last eight years (at least), and I suspect they’ll stick with her, for some venal reason we haven’t seen yet. Remember, we haven’t even seen the Sunday gasbag take on it yet…I suspect that they’ll try to push her as a “maverick” and a “change agent”, like they were on that assclown Gregory’s show on MSNBC yesterday.

    Great minds and all that. I had been thinking the Harriett thing, also. Reports said that aides had nixed Holy Joe last weekend and she was brought in. Maybe McCain believes if Palin doesn’t take, he can bring in his old friend on a “unity” ticket to save the day.

    On another note, the memorial service for Stephanie Tubbs Jones was on CSpan today. A touching, joyful event. Nothing can top the image of her son and Congressmen Meeks and Ryan hugging one another during the service.

    ooooh, but then there’s MoDo! This will be fresh kill for the ravenous red-haired beast, still burping over John Edwards’ political carcass. Will be interesting to see if she uses this opportunity to sink her claws yet again into Hillary, saving the tasty Alaskan tart for later……oooor if she devours both at once.

    YAY! I thought Palin would draw you out! I know I should think seriously about this mess, but really. Has ANY VP candidate ever made you laugh out loud before? I can’t look at a newspaper without getting the giggles.

    McCain has just shown the country how stupid he believes we are. And oh what a reckless gambler he is.

    I think there are other plans for Holy Joe.

    The Paultards appear to be acting up, and given McCain’s freakish behaviour, one can only imagine the interaction between those two “maverick” groups.

    If there was any partly discipline, the RNC would insist that McCain choose Chuck Hagel. It would even give him a chance. However, Hagel’s all but endorsed Obama.

    He could choose Jeb Bush. You can only go from bad to worse in this situation.

    I’m flabbergasted, but I know that my repug in-laws have drunk the koolaid. “Did you see her speak? Oh, she’s wonderful! She didn’t say a negative word!” Meanwhile I’m sure my FIL was all kerplotzed on the floor with the Hillary love.

    I’m waiting to see the fundie disconnect between the lovely conservative values and the working mother meme. (With a disabled infant, to boot!) Why oh why is SpongeDob silent now?
